2019 Bedroom Decorating Ideas. Refresh, Retreat, Relax in your Bedroom.

They say you spend one-third of your life in bed.  I definitely spend way more time than that. In fact, it's my one sanctuary that I escape to at the end of the day.  Sleep is important, and in order to tackle life's busy stresses, family, work, and social obligations, you need to get proper rest.  Doctors suggest 8 hours of rest each night will help keep you productive and healthier.

We do spend a lot of time in bed, if you are sleeping, reading or just doing occasional napping.  It all adds up to that one special place in your life you can refresh and rejuvenate from the day's stresses.  Here's 4 quick tips to help you turn your bedroom into a "do not disturb" sleep zone.  I hope you will take the time to turn your bedroom into your private retreat, your very own personal oasis.

Tuck into crisp, clean and fresh.
Invest in crisp hotel quality sheets and bedding.  January White sales are going on the whole month of January, and now is the time to buy.  Wash your sheets weekly to keep them fresh and crisp.  Use a duvet cover, to give a clean "hotel" look and feel.

Bedhead refresh.
For a quick refresh before you jump in, try a linen spray and take the experience to the next level.  On occasion cooking odors, outdoor smells on our hair can make the pillows seems less than fresh.  I love the lavender or eucalyptus scents. You can find them online at www.bedbathandbeyond or www.amazon.com

 Satisfy your color crush.
For a pet parent or kid parent, choosing the crisp linen "white look" may seem destined for failure.  Not so, you can still use whites, just be sure to have a warm color that hides dirt.  Choose duvet covers in tranquility blues, vibrant greens and soft mauve pinks to hide the pet hair and kid messes.

Make it your everyday getaway, full of energy.
What kind of energy do you have in your bedroom?  Is it dark and dreary or light and bright?  The energy in your bedroom comes from the scent, the sound and the sights the moment you walk in.  I like to open the windows and let the light shine each day.   Add a few green succulents that are adding new life and growth on a dresser or nightstand.  Clear the clutter, so your brain can rest.  Add music, soft sleep machines, blue tooth speakers to listen to your favorite Pandora or iTunes mix.  Good vibes only.
